How soon
should I contact Tara to book a session? Tara encourages you to call her well in advance
of when you would like a session as she is often booked weeks (at times months) in advance. If you are pregnant, call when you are at the beginning of your second trimester
to schedule a date, which will be held around week
33-37. Tara is one of Toronto and Durham Regions most sought after newborn photographers and maternity photographers. Tara suggests calling during your pregnancy to "tentatively" book a
date. While Tara tries to keep some select slots open for newborns, pre-arranging a date guarantees that you will get
a newborn photography session with her. Ideally Tara likes to photograph newborns
before they are eight days of life. Tara offers an exclusive plan for maternity and newborn photography.
What is included in the Creative Session? The creative session fee includes your customized photography session, preparation guide and in-person consultation to view you personalized gallery of 40+ proofs. Digital files, prints, albums and canvases are purchased either a la carte or through a Collection. Because we know that you are going to love you images, we do not have a minimum order requirement. Clients are welcome to order as much or as little as they desire. We do have a minimum reorder amount which we have listed in our policies.
Are Digital Files included in my session or available to purchase? We have several different options with digital files available for you to purchase. You have the option to purchase a few, a handful or the full set. All Digital Files include both colour and b.w, fully edited versions and a print out of each file so you can see the proper colour and tonal range your prints should be when printed professionally. We give you recommended lab lists (so that you get the same professional results), image release and care guide. All images remain copyright to Tara Sinclair Hingco Art & Design.
Can I make copies of my fine art prints? No that is illegal and subject to a fine. Unless you have purchased digitals files which allow you to print, you can not scan, print or distribute any image from our site. All clients must sign a model release and Tara maintains the legal copyright of all images (Note she does not offer your personal images for resale or stock imagery without your consent). Web files of ordered images are available at no cost for personal use such as Facebook.
How is using Tara of Art & Design different than another chain studio or other photographer? Photography has never been more popular of a profession as it is today. In all professions, there will be choices in whom to choose from - some people will be hobbyists and some professional; some priced to market value and some that are priced below market value. Tara rates are based on averages from professional photographers associations and her market value.
As a client, you should examine your potential photographer's portfolio (ask to see a full client gallery) and consider if their work is consistent in style (or is it capturing today's latest trend), quality (muddy grey tones, plastic overly airbrushed or overly exposed skin with no tonal values), and range of subjects (showcasing the same child, baby or family) and integrity (are babies shown in an unsafe manner in an attempt to get the fad pose of de jour) - All of these are the mark of an inexperienced photographer.
Tara knows that life passes quickly and moments need to be cherished. Tara strives to create a unique and rewarding experience for her clients while documenting their loves and life. She truly loves and finds inspiration in her work and prides herself on the bonds she has created with clients, working with them time and time again. Please read through the list of testimonials for some client appreciation notes.
Tara is a full-time, award-winning, professionally insured photographer and is invested in capturing your moments with professionalism and integrity. Will Tara travel? Tara is available for location sessions as time and schedule permits. If you are in Ontario, an additional travel fee may be incurred. If you are outside of Ontario, Tara will travel to you with a minimum of five other families scheduled with a Collection purchase or with you incurring the travel fee expenses. Tara has clients based in the US, Europe and Asia.
What do we wear? When you book your session, Tara will consult with you and send you an information booklet discussing clothing for the different types of sessions.
Do you offer workshops, mentoring or consultation? Tara accepts private mentoring on a case-by-case scenario for photographers 200 km outside of the GTA with a signed non-compete form.
